Nabisco, Planters Division, Suffolk, VA 1995 – 1997

Project Manager, Division Engineering. Multi-plant responsibility. Planned, directed, consulted, and led all major design engineering and constructions projects for 3 plants, offices and warehouses.

- Team leader for project staff of 3 engineers.
- Reviewed/ prepared/ and submitted requests for capital expenditures and contracts. Ensured all contracts conformed to organization requirements and verified that the completion fulfilled contractual obligations.
- Single-handedly provided prudent and responsible project control and direction that saved the company over $300,000 (from capital budgets) on projects within first 4 months of service.
- Took initiative and identified new supplier that improved cooking oil refining operation - saving $120,000 per year chemical costs and a 15% reduction of labor.
- Designed process to remove un-filterable contaminants from cooking oil. (Patentable)
- Managed plant portion of new product introduction projects and trials. Provided excellent R&D interfacing and assistance. All production schedules kept on time.
- Initiated and completed investigation of application of thermal technology for process control and preventive/ predictive maintenance. Would yield estimated annual savings of $180,000.

Knorr - Best Foods Div., Asheboro, NC 1992 - 1995

Process Engineer: Analyzed and optimized processing functions of Food ProcessingPlant.

- Selected for, and attended advanced processing and process development training in Switzerland and Germany. Developed and maintained close and effective relationships with counterparts world-wide. Effectively acted as liaison between Asheboro plant and European counterparts.
- Implemented process controls procedure that reduced mix department scrap-loss to an average 0.5% (A reduction of 75%). Saving $ 73,000 annually.
- Improved mix department maximum operational capability by over 20% via PLC system modifications.
- Filled-in as Team Leader on all shifts when needed, directly supervising as many as 45 hourly employees per shift from all production and shipping departments.
